Dr. Jalaal Hayes
Jalaal Hayes, CEO and Founder of Evince, Inc.
Dr. Jalaal Hayes, a North Philadelphia native, is a pioneering figure in clean energy. In 2015, at just 22, he made history as Delaware State University’s youngest-ever Ph.D. graduate with his groundbreaking dissertation on hydrogen storage systems, titled *Thermodynamic and Kinetic Studies of Alkali-Metal Doped Lithium Amide-Magnesium Hydride Hydrogen Storage System*. His research has contributed to advancements in hydrogen storage technologies, a crucial element in the transition to sustainable energy.
Dr. Hayes’ passion for clean energy was evident early in his career. At 18, he graduated from Lincoln University with dual degrees in General Science and History. He then interned at NASA’s URC program, where he enhanced his understanding of atmospheric chemistry and climate systems. As a graduate student at the Center for Hydrogen Storage Research, he contributed to a U.S. patent and published several peer-reviewed articles on hydrogen storage materials, further solidifying his expertise in renewable energy solutions.
In 2017, Dr. Hayes founded Evince, Inc (formerly Elyte Energy), a clean energy startup focusing on hydrogen storage and production technologies. The company’s mission is to advance sustainable energy while educating the public on the significance of diversity in the clean energy workforce. Through his work with Elyte Energy and advocacy efforts, Dr. Hayes is playing a pivotal role in promoting hydrogen as a clean fuel alternative and shaping the future of renewable energy.
His influence extends beyond research. He frequently speaks at prestigious conferences, including the Innovative Applied Energy Conference at Oxford University. In 2021, he released *Exploding Dreams: A STEAM Story*, a documentary highlighting his journey to becoming America’s youngest Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry. Today, as an entrepreneur and educator, Dr. Hayes continues to inspire the next generation of scientists while driving innovation in clean energy technologies.
